Thousands of citizens benefit from social grants every month, enabling them to purchase basic goods and services. Grant recipients should collect new gold cards so they can continue receiving their grants.
Where And When Collect Your New Sassa Card
SSA has made it easier for grant recipients to get their gold cards. As the gold cards they are currently using expire in the near future, many beneficiaries need to collect new ones.It is the same as using a regular bank card when using a Sassa gold card. Any supermarket or retail store can accept gold cards as payment.
A new Sassa gold card can be collected at a Post Office branch by beneficiaries whose current cards are expiring. The only beneficiaries who need to collect a new card at a post office are those whose cards are due to expire by March 2023.
There is an important distinction to make here: the Post Office will only issue gold cards to the name of the individual whose card is expiring. Sassa gold cards cannot be collected on behalf of others unless a procurator is registered with Sassa.
When You Can Collect A Gold Card
