- Provide Your Phone Number: Enter your cell phone number and click ‘send SMS.’
- Receive One Time Pin (OTP): You will receive a One Time Pin (OTP) on the phone number you provided.
- Enter OTP: Enter the OTP to verify your identity.
- Accept Clauses and Provide Personal Details: Confirm and accept the Clauses in the Declaration and Consent documents, then provide your personal information.
- Submit Additional Information: Include your cell phone number, employment details, and lifestyle sustainability information.
- Banking Information: Provide your banking details as required.
- Complete the Application: Follow the on-screen prompts to finalize your application.
Method 2: Applying on WhatsApp
- Add Sassa on WhatsApp: Add Sassa as a contact using the number 082 046 8553.
- Send a Message: Send a message with the text “SRD Grant” to the provided number.
- Specify Applicant Type: Indicate whether you are applying for yourself (by sending “1”) or on behalf of someone else (by sending “2”).
- Provide Personal Information: Send your name and surname as they appear on your identity document.
- Accept Terms and Conditions: Read the terms and conditions and respond with “YES” if you accept them.
- Citizenship Status: Indicate your citizenship status as a South African citizen (by sending “1”), Permanent Resident (by sending “2”), or Refugee (by sending “3”).
- Access the Application Link: Click on the link sent to you in the WhatsApp chat.
- Confirm Clauses and Enter ID: Confirm and accept the Clauses in the Declaration and Consent documents, then enter your ID number.
- Complete the Application: Follow the prompts to finalize your R350 grant application for August.
Eligibility for the R350 Grant
To qualify for the R350 grant, applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria:
- Unemployment: Applicants must be unemployed.
- Citizenship: South African citizens, permanent refugees, permanent residents, asylum seekers, and special permit holders are eligible.
- Age: Applicants must be between 18 and 59 years old.
