Sassa Calls On Social Grant Recipients To Collect New Cards At Their Nearest Post Office

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has begun issuing new cards as of March 13 and is encouraging social grant recipients whose gold cards expire in March to visit their nearest post office.

According to Sassa, only those whose cards expire in March are eligible to collect gold cards. The cards will be distributed on March 13 and 14 to recipients of old-age grants and disability grants.

In order to collect their new Sassa cards, recipients of child-support grants, including all other grants, are urged to bring the following to the post office:

• A South African identity document and
• The current Sassa/Postbank gold card that is expiring in March 2023.

Activating the new cards, selecting a new PIN, and making withdrawals or other transactions will be assisted by post office staff.
In the coming months, Sassa will communicate and publish another announcement regarding those whose cards will expire.
