R350 Grant Payments Initiated for November. More than seven million individuals are set to receive their R350 grant payments in the imminent days, as disclosed by the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa). The agency has outlined the payment schedule for approved applicants.
SASSA R350 Grant Payment Schedule For November 2023
Sassa has commenced the distribution of Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant payments for November 2023. Eligible individuals, whose R350 grant applications were approved, can expect payments on Friday, 24 November 2023. The distribution will persist until 30 November 2023.
R350 Grant Payments Timing Clarification
Unlike other Sassa grants disbursed at the beginning of the month, SRD grant payments occur at the end. Sassa explains that this timing aligns with the anticipated completion of the verification process.
R350 Grant Payments Processing Time and Eligibility Criteria
While grant payments are scheduled within these dates, it’s important to note that funds may only reflect in the beneficiary’s account a few days later, taking approximately 2-3 working days. To be eligible for the R350 grant, applicants must meet specific criteria, including citizenship or residency status, financial criteria, and exclusion from other government support programs.
R350 Grant Payments Verification Process Overview
Sassa conducts thorough applicant verification, collaborating with the Department of Home Affairs and the Department of Treasury for identity, citizenship, and income verification, respectively. The duration of the bank verification process varies. Grant payments proceed only when Sassa is satisfied with the applicant’s eligibility, contributing to the end-of-month disbursement.
R350 Grant Payments Status Check and Appeals
Sassa encourages grant beneficiaries to perform a status check to confirm approval. If an application is rejected, applicants can submit an appeal to the Independent Tribunal for Social Assistance Appeals (ITSAA).
SRD Grant Extension
Initially designed as a short-term temporary grant during lockdowns, the SRD grant has proven vital for those without income. President Cyril Ramaphosa emphasized its role in preventing millions from falling into poverty. Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana’s announcement extends the SRD Grant for an additional 12 months, with payments continuing until March 2025.
