NSFAS To Fund Over 90 000 Students in 2023.Students with successful funding applications have been confirmed by the National Student Financial Aid Scheme. Additionally, the scheme has shed light on why some applications are still being processed as well as reasons for rejections.

National Student Financial Aid Scheme releases funding list for returning students for 2023 The National Student Financial Aid Scheme considered more than 1.6 million bursary applications for the 2023 academic year. Bursary applicants have now been informed of the results of the funding list.

According to NSFAS, 91,491 students have been approved for student funding pending registration at their chosen public university and TVET college. A total of 1,666,039 were received through the scheme’s online portal.

The scheme also confirmed that 317,335 applications were rejected because they did not meet eligibility criteria. 206,781 are awaiting evaluation while 37,854 are awaiting financial eligibility assessment and confirmation from third parties.

Furthermore, NSFAS has informed bursary students for the 2023 academic year who are either non-Sassa beneficiaries or returning students that their funding decisions are now available at their respective institutions
