Nsfas Students Urged To Open Nsfas Bank Accounts

Students at public universities and Technical Vocational Education and Training Colleges have been receiving financial aid through the National Student Financial Aid Scheme for over two decades. A new method of paying bursary recipients’ allowances has been introduced by the government bursary scheme.

Student allowances will now be paid through the National Student Financial Aid Scheme’s Mastercard in 2022. As part of introducing the new payment solution, NSFAS spokesperson Kagisho Mamabolo said students will be provided with tools to help them navigate this new journey easily.

Monthly allowances will be disbursed directly to NSFAS-funded students via a bank account and a card. In a statement, the Scheme shared:

All beneficiaries have been encouraged to register for the Nsfas Bank Account to enable the Scheme to pay their allowances.

In addition, students are encouraged to visit the Nsfas website and social media platforms in order to sign up online.

Public university and Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College students who have received funding for their education for the current academic year will be able to access their student allowances through the Nsfas Mastercard.

Through selected distribution partners such as Coinvest, eZaga, Morocco and Tenet Technology, the new payment solution will be introduced with the assistance of third-party financial services providers.

It is recommended that students sign up for the Nsfas Bank Account.

A number of institutions will be onboarded by Coinvest, including:

  3. Gert Sibande FET College
  4. Ikhala Public Further Education and Training
  5. Majuba College
  6. Mnambithi FET College
  7. Mthashana FET College
  8. Nkangala FET College
  9. Northlink College
  10. Port Elizabeth College
  11. Tshwane South College
  12. Umfolozi College
  13. Vuselela FET College

Tenet Technology’s website is the only way for students enrolled at the institutions below to sign up for an NSFAS Bank Account.

After downloading the allocated partner’s mobile app, students can perform EFT transactions.The Nsfas Mastercard will afford bursary recipients the control over their finances and teach them financial responsibility.
