This is a breakdown of the upcoming increases in social grants provided by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA).I would like to remind you of the upcoming increases in social grants as we approach April. A visualisation of the increases first announced in February’s Budget Speech by Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana was released by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA).

Here’s A Breakdown Of The Upcoming Sassa Grant Increases

In previous reports, Godongwana announced that the Department of Social Development would receive R66 billion in the medium term, of which R30 billion will go to inflation-linked increases in social grants and R36 billion will go to the extension of the R350 grant through 31 March 2024.

A R90 increase in old age and disability grants will be implemented on 1 April, followed by a further R10 increase on 1 October. This will result in a total increase of R2090.

 As of 1 October, child support grants will rise by R30 to R510, while foster care grants will go up by R60 to R1130. An increase of R10 in October will increase the grant to R2100 for military veterans from 1 April.
